Seaquester

The Slater Family: 1949-Late 1960s

The 5th boat in the fleet, Seaquester was built for the Slater family in 1949. With such great faith in his design, Bertie Slater took his family on the newly launched yacht on a round trip to Stornoway and back. Bertie and his son Ronnie (who went on to become a surgeon, specialising in children born with cleft lip) were joint owners of the boat until sometime in the late '60s when they sold her to Dr D.J MacAuley.

Dr MacAuley owned Seaquester from the late '60s until 1974. Home port listed as Belfast.

Aiden Sharkey: 1975-1992

During the years of ownership with the Sharkey family, Seaquester spent her time between Clogherhead and the river Boyne in Drogheda, factoring in space and prevailing weather conditions.
